The Roswell Police Department honored many of its members during a Feb. 28 awards ceremony recognizing a variety of achievements and actions during the past year of 2022.
RPD congratulates the following on their well-deserved awards, promotions and recognition, and thanks our members for their dedicated service to this department and community. A special thank you to Briana Sanchez for opening the ceremony with a beautiful rendition of our national anthem.
Medal Recipients
Officer Logan Franklin, Life Saving Award
On Aug. 10, Officer Logan Franklin responded to the 1000 block of East Poe Street in reference to a motor-vehicle crash with injuries. Upon arrival, Officer Franklin provided life-saving measures to a motorist, saving the life of a young man.
Officer Gideon Perry, Life Saving Award
On Dec. 23, Officer Gideon Perry responded to a medical call involving a female who was not breathing and apparently choking on something. Officer Perry used the Heimlich maneuver, saving the woman’s life.

K9 Tesla, a female Belgian Malinois who was one of RPD’s drug and apprehension dogs. She had more than five years of police K9 service, working at RPD with K9 Officer Cody Schwartz. Tesla officially retired in January 2022.
