Clovis Municipal Schools announced a two-hour delay for Tuesday, January 21, 2025. The decision comes in response to an Extreme Cold Warning issued by the National Weather Service, predicting wind chills as low as -20 degrees.

The district expressed concern for students who walk or wait at bus stops in such severe conditions. The delayed start aims to provide time for the weather to improve and ensure that school facilities are adequately prepared for students and staff.

Families are reminded to dress children appropriately for the cold. School meals, including breakfast, will be available despite the delay. However, A.M. Preschool classes are canceled due to the scheduling changes.

During this delay, all schedules will shift by two hours. For instance, buses scheduled for 7 a.m. will now pick up students at 9 a.m., and school drop-offs typically at 7:30 a.m. will occur at 9:30 a.m.

Further details on inclement weather procedures can be found on the Clovis Municipal Schools website.
