Joe Strickland receives lifetime dedication award from NMSPA

Joe Strickland, Deputy Superintendent of Employee Services at Clovis Municipal Schools, has been recognized with the Lifetime Dedication Award by the New Mexico School Personnel Association (NMSPA). This award acknowledges his significant contributions and commitment to human resources in education.

The Lifetime Dedication Award is given to individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and dedication in shaping human resources within education. Mr. Strickland's career has been marked by his vision and positive impact on students, staff, and the educational community.

Mr. Strickland began as a classroom teacher at Portales Schools, Floyd Schools, and later Clovis Municipal Schools. He transitioned into leadership roles while maintaining a passion for education and professional development. Notable achievements include earning National Board Certification in 2004, mentoring educators as a Dossier coach, and serving as Deputy Superintendent since 2019. In this role, he has led initiatives to improve HR practices and employee relations across the district.

Beyond his work at Clovis Municipal Schools, Mr. Strickland has served on the board of La Casa De Buena Salud and held positions in organizations like the American Association of School Personnel Administrators and ENLACE. His academic accomplishments include two advanced degrees.
