Band ensembles from Clovis Municipal Schools showcased remarkable performances at the Southeastern New Mexico Music Educators Association (SENMMEA) Music Performance Assessment on April 2 in Hobbs, New Mexico. All five ensembles earned the highest ratings of "1" (Superior) in both stage performance and sight-reading.

The ensembles that achieved top marks include the Clovis High School Wind Symphony, Clovis High School Concert Band, Clovis High School Freshman Academy Symphonic Band, Yucca Middle School Symphonic Band, and Gattis Middle School Symphonic Band. Each group demonstrated excellence in musical proficiency and performance.

The assessment serves as an annual event aimed at providing feedback and recognition for student musicians and their directors. The participating directors were acknowledged for their dedication: Daniel Perez led the CHS Wind Symphony, Anthony Gonzales directed the CHS Concert Band, and Juan De Leon was the percussion director. Dustyn Crane was at the helm of the CHSFA Symphonic Band, Roger Kemp led the Yucca Symphonic Band, Gerry Lara directed the Gattis Symphonic Band, and Jon Bjorklund led the Marshall 6th Grade Academy.

Clovis Municipal Schools praised the efforts and dedication of all students and directors, highlighting their disciplined preparation for the event and consistent representation of the district.
