The Roswell Police Department and Roswell Fire Department are set to host their annual National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Roswell Recreation and Aquatic Center located at 1402 W. College Blvd. The event will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Both departments, along with other law enforcement, fire, and medical agencies, will showcase their vehicles and equipment for attendees to explore while interacting with emergency responders.
The outdoor pool will be open to the public for free starting at 6:15 p.m., though access is limited to 200 people at a time. The event will also feature games, raffles, and complimentary hot dogs.
Unlike previous years, this year’s event will not include a school-supplies giveaway.
National Night Out was established in 1984 as an initiative to foster relationships between communities and police, fire, and medical emergency responders while promoting crime-prevention awareness. It is celebrated by thousands of communities across all 50 states, U.S. territories, and Canada. Most events are held on the first Tuesday in August; however, some states schedule them at different times.
