From November 25, 2022 post.
The National Weather Service is confident that the incoming storm system will level considerable impacts to travel as models are consistent with anywhere between 4-10 inches of snow for the Chaves County area.
Blowing snow may cause higher impacts to different areas and will quickly effect travel across Southeastern New Mexico. Radar is already showing show about 30 miles North of Roswell near the Ft. Sumner turn off/rest area along 285.
A significant winter storm is still on track for eastern New Mexico. Winter storm warnings are now in effect for southeastern parts of the region with moderate to major winter storm impacts expected! Please try to avoid any travel in the region through Saturday morning. #NMwx
