On April 4-5, Clovis Municipal Schools' choirs participated in the NMAA State Choir Contest at Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The event gathered choral groups from across the state, marking the first time any Clovis middle school participated in the contest.

Yucca Middle School's Varsity Treble Choir earned first place, becoming State Champions in the Middle School Choir category. Gattis Middle School's Varsity Treble Choir secured third place in the same category.

In other results, the CHS Women's Select Choir from Clovis High School achieved third place in the 1A-5A Treble Choir category, and the CHS Chamber Choir took fifth place in the 5A Mixed Choir category.

The achievements reflect the commitment of Clovis choir students and their directors, who were acknowledged for their efforts. The directors include Lori Riggins from Gattis Middle School, Seth Baldock from Yucca Middle School, James Golden from both Yucca and Gattis Middle Schools, and Sarah Sena and Tami Martin from Clovis High School.

The CMS Choral Department expressed appreciation to the students' parents, the Clovis Municipal Schools Board of Education, and campus and district administrators for their continued support of music education.
