The emergency sirens in Roswell, Dexter and Hagerman (set up to alert the public of a weather-related or other emergency) will be tested Monday (Oct. 10) around noon. All the sirens are regularly tested the first Monday of each month (but were delayed a week this month because of the fair parade last Monday). In an actual weather emergency, the purpose of the sirens is to warn people who are outside to get inside a building as severe weather approaches. Learn more about the emergency sirens.
