(Update) “RPD was called shortly before 8:30 p.m. Sunday to the 800 block of West Mathews Street, where a 26-year-old woman had been shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital and then transferred to another hospital elsewhere, where she remained as of Monday morning. The investigation is ongoing” said RPD Spokesman Todd Wildermuth
Breaking News : Shortly after 8:30 pm Sunday Roswell Emergency Units responded to the intersection of Union and Mathews in reference to a shooting.
RPD arrived on the scene and called for medics, they located one victim with atleast 1 gunshot wound to the stomach.
Medics arrive and quickly loaded the victim in the ambulance, which was then transported emergently and while being escorted by an RPD unit to Eastern New Mexico Medical Center for further treatment (unknown condition).
RPD officers where seen taping off an area in front of a home on the 800 block of West Mathews (where the shooting occurred) and have a second location blocked off at Union and Michigan.
