Early-morning shooting homicide under investigation.
The Roswell Police Department is investigating a shooting homicide that occurred shortly before 4 a.m. this morning (Friday, Aug. 19) in the 600 block of South Missouri Ave.
The victim has been identified as Robert Smiley, 36, of Roswell. Emergency responders found him deceased inside a travel trailer on a residential property. He had at least one gunshot wound.
RPD is currently working to identify the shooter.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call RPD at 575-624-6770.” Said Roswell Police Department per press release.

Breaking News: Shortly before 4 am Friday morning , Roswell Police received a call about a shooting that may have injured one male.
Police arrived at a residence on the 600 block of South Missouri where a single male was found with atleast 1 gunshot wound.
Medics arrived, but determined the male to be deceased. RPD and Chaves County Sheriffs are canvassing the area to attempt to locate the shooter who may have fled on foot.
