Lea County Sheriff’s Office issued the following announcement on March 29.
Deputies are on scene at a traffic crash, vehicle vs train on State Road 18 mile post 68. Deputies request motorists avoid the area. Southbound traffic is slowly being diverted through one northbound traffic lane. NM State Police are on scene. Expect delays or seek an alternative route.
