The Clovis Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commission has announced the winners of its annual Art, Essay, and Speech Contest. This year saw over 400 entries from students at Clovis Municipal Schools and Clovis Christian School.
Participants engaged in a speech contest on December 9, centered around the theme "Non-violence seeks to win friendship and understanding." Winners of the speech category will present their work at the upcoming 34th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Breakfast on January 18, 2025, at Clovis High School Cafeteria.
The breakfast event is a tradition in Clovis that celebrates student achievements while honoring Dr. King's legacy of peace and unity. Contest winners will receive medallions and first-place winners will be awarded cash prizes for their exceptional submissions.
