Students at a local school have been actively participating in various challenges that foster critical thinking and enhance their skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) subjects. Among these initiatives is Destination Imagination, where students tackle innovative problems.
In this competition, two teams from the school managed to secure first place in their respective categories. The Fine Arts Challenge Team - Eclipse comprised Caleb Madrid, Abigail Williams, Serenity Vasquez, and Olivia Romero. Meanwhile, the Scientific Challenge Team - Knights of the Square Table included Caden Torres, Austin Warren, Hailey Holmes, Emily Gipson, Violet Loper and Maddison Coates. Notably absent from the photo was Maddison Coates. This group notably wrote their puppet script with 75% alliteration.
Furthermore, students also participated in a regional renewable energy challenge with KidWind in Tucumcari. In these STEAM subjects, students are encouraged to devise innovative solutions through the power of the creative process.
