Rodolfo Arceo has been selected to oversee support efforts as the Coordinator of English Language Initiatives, beginning with the 2024-2025 school year. Arceo, currently serving as principal at Lockwood Elementary School, will be transitioning to this new role to expand language services for district students.
Arceo's journey within Clovis Municipal Schools has been one of dedication to bilingual education. Starting as a Spanish teacher at Clovis High School in 2011, he has since worked with bilingual families through various programs such as the Bilingual Summer Institute and the Migrant Mentor Program. Additionally, he has served as an English Language Learner (ELL) Case Manager, showcasing his commitment to supporting students in their language acquisition journey.
The Federal Title III funding awarded to the district has made the addition of this position possible, with the specific aim of supporting second language learners in acquiring English language proficiency. This initiative reflects the district's commitment to providing comprehensive language services to all students.
Mr. Arceo's educational background includes a Bachelor's in Modern and Classical Languages from Eastern New Mexico University and a Master's in Education Administration from Wayland Baptist University. With his solid foundation in language education and administrative skills, he is well-equipped to take on the role of Coordinator of English Language Initiatives.
