5.4% of citizens unemployed in Chaves County in 2021

Chaves County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.4% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,545 people out of the 65,014 living in Chaves County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Chaves County has increased compared to the 5.2% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Chaves County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.5%.

Of the 26,926 people who had a job during that time, 73 were employed in the Armed Forces and 26,853 belonged to the civilian labor force.
