69.6% of Lea County residents old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 72,743 citizens living in Lea County in 2021, 69.6% were old enough to vote, equating to 50,632 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 26,207 were male, constituting 51.8%, and 24,425 were female, making up 48.2%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Lea County during 2021 was lower than the state average, which stands at 77%.
