The City of Roswell's Mission Pillar Award recognizes a city employee’s efforts in exhibiting one or more of the city's core values of accountability, communication, excellence, integrity and teamwork. One award winner is selected each month from the nominations received that month.
The winner of the December Mission Pillar Award is Recreation Manager Alex Diaz from the Roswell Recreation and Aquatic Center. Alex recently completed his training to become a certified Parks and Recreation professional.
A nomination for Alex to receive this city honor noted Alex created a presentation called “It's Just a Game and They're Just Kids.” He has initiated staff trainings to prepare for parent meetings and coaching kids. Alex represents the Roswell Recreation and Aquatic Center in such a professional manner that the state took notice and chose him to present at an annual state conference. The nomination also said Alex “is currently doing more than what is asked of him and does it without hesitation and continually exceeds expectations."
