Cost of college was unchanged for all students at New Mexico Junior College

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at New Mexico Junior College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

New Mexico residents paid $1,776 to attend the two-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-residents paid 10.8 percent more than residents this year, or $1,968. Their price tag was unchanged from $1,968 in 2017-18.

About 79 percent of the school's undergraduate population are New Mexico residents. About 19 percent are residents of other states and 2 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 76 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 201 students received grants or scholarships totaling $612,321 and 26 students took out student loans totaling more than $70,543.

Including all undergraduates (2,247), 901 students used grants or scholarships totaling $2.1 million, and 121 students took out $365,303 in federal student loans.
