The median income of Lake Sumner residents was an inflation-adjusted $34,167 per year. Lake Sumner had 57 households in 2017, with a population of 127.

The city with the highest median resident income in the state was La Cueva. La Cueva's median income was $67,500 per year after adjusting for inflation – $33,333 more than Lake Sumner. It had 89 households in 2017 and a population of 137.
