Roswell School Bus Crashes in Otero County

Otero County, NM – On October 5, at about 8:51 a.m. the New Mexico State Police, was dispatched to a single vehicle rollover involving a school bus on U.S. Highway 70 near milepost 238 northeast of Tularosa.  
The initial investigation indicates that a Roswell Independent School District bus that was transporting 8th graders from Mountain View Middle school to an event in Las Cruces was traveling west on U.S. Highway 70.  For reasons still under investigation, the bus left the roadway and crashed.  
As a precaution, the twenty-five students and three adults on board were all transported by ground to area hospitals for injuries not believed to be life-threatening. State Police does not release information on specific injuries suffered by victims.
This crash is under investigation by the New Mexico State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit.
