Breaking News: Roswell Police, Chaves County Sheriff’s Deputies and New Mexico State Police are involved in a pursuit of a stolen vehicle on 285 North.

RPD originally called for CCSO backup when the vehicle was pulled over by them, but the driver refused to cooperate with officers, then fled from the traffic stop after being pepper sprayed. The female driver proceeded to go North on US:285 from Pine Lodge and proceeded to go onto oncoming traffic.

The vehicle was spike stripped multiple different times, but the driver proceeded to flee. Officers even proceeded to drive miles in front of the vehicle and warm oncoming motorists that the vehicle was in oncoming lanes.

The vehicle finally came to a stop at 285 and Los Alamos Rd after the female exited the vehicle, and was taken into custody without further incident.
