Breaking News: Law Enforcement on scene of an Officer Involved Shooting on the 1200 block of South Michigan.

“The Roswell Police Department was involved in an officer-involved shooting in the 1200 block of South Michigan Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. tonight (Friday, Jan. 6).

Multiple RPD officers were on the scene of a domestic-disturbance call when one or more officers fired shots, with one or more of those shots striking a 20-year-old male suspect believed to be involved in the domestic disturbance.

The injured suspect was transported to a hospital where he later died. The officers on the scene were not injured.

This officer-involved shooting is being investigated by a team made up of members of the Roswell Police Department, Chaves County Sheriff’s Office and New Mexico State Police” said The RPD Spokesman Todd Wildermuth.
