From December 15, 2022 post. The City of Roswell’s Mission Pillar Award recognizes a city employee’s efforts in exhibiting one or more of the city’s core values of accountability, communication, excellence, integrity and teamwork. One award winner is selected each month from the nominations received that month.

The winner of the November Mission Pillar Award is Amber Smith, the museum operations manager at the Roswell Museum.

Amber’s coworkers say she can be depended on to go above and beyond in everything she does and carries out her role as museum operations manager with balance and grace. It is a role that could easily overwhelm someone between oversight of security and front-desk staff to management of bookkeeping, facility rentals, memberships and event setups. She addresses visitor complaints, assists with facility-maintenance needs and is a support person who fills in whenever needed, all with a positive and solution-oriented attitude. In addition to being described as a wonderful manager, Amber’s coworkers said she is a wonderful person to work with. She is always available to answer any questions and she’s never too busy to listen.
