In the early morning hours of 12-21-22, a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy made a traffic stop on US 380 between Hondo and Lincoln, NM. The driver, 21 year old Ruidoso Downs resident, Gregory Alaniz, was found to have an active arrest warrant and was taken into custody. During the pre-impound inventory of the vehicle the pictured drugs were observed. The vehicle was towed to the Sheriff’s Office and a search warrant was executed. 1.6 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, over 200 pills of suspected fentanyl and a digital scale were seized. The narcotics have an estimated combined street value of approximately $366,500.00. Alaniz remains incarcerated on 2 charges of trafficking controlled substances.
