On October 5, 2022 At approximately 1055 hrs, Chaves County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a possible deceased person laying near Hobson road west of Omaha Rd. Upon arrival, Deputies determined the individual was deceased and called out the Chaves County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division to work the scene.  At this time we are not releasing the manner of death. The deceased had no identification on his person, so we are asking for the publics help in identifying him. The deceased male is approx. 5’8″, 175lbs, short cropped reddish brown beard and hair, wearing a black t-shirt,  black pants, and brown leather work boots. He has two distinct tattoos: a small cross under his right eye, and the name “Bertha” across his chest near his neckline.
