Breaking News: Chaves County Sheriff’s Deputies and RPD Swat is in a standoff at the Hatchet Construction next to the Asian Food Market (5702 S Main St).

The Undersheriff Charles Ysals told us that his deputies where called to the Asian Food Market after the male owner was involved in a domestic violence incident with his wife, where it is alleged that he beat her and their child.

Then after some time, his father arrived to try and intervene, but the male suspect proceeded to beat his father as well.

When deputies arrived the man went into the Second story of the adjacent business and barricaded himself inside. The male suspect at one point yelled from the upstairs window to the CCSO sergeant on scene to bring him a beer, because he is not coming out.

Ysals told us that South Main (in both directions) from the Dollar General to Harris Rd is closed until the incident is resolved.

The CCSO is currently filing for a search warrant and will pass over tactical intervention to the RPD SWAT team to try and resolve the standoff peacefully.

Stay Tuned for more updates as they become available.
