In 2024, Medicaid providers in Fort Sumner reported $208,983 in billing for services within the Evaluation and Management category, data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Medicaid Provider Spending database shows. This reflects a 6.8% rise compared to the prior year, when claims for the same category totaled $195,650.

Statewide, the Evaluation and Management category ranked third by Medicaid payments in New Mexico for 2024.

From 2019 through 2024, Medicaid payments attributed to the Evaluation and Management category in Fort Sumner increased by $102,286, representing growth of 95.9%. Growth accelerated in select years, with notable increases seen in 2021 and 2022.

Spending on Evaluation and Management services was distributed across the city, but payments were concentrated in a small number of ZIP codes. In 2024, the majority of Medicaid payments related to this category came from ZIP code 88119, with a total of $208,983. This ZIP accounted for 100% of the city’s Evaluation and Management payments during that year.

Analysis showed Medicaid spending within the Evaluation and Management category was also concentrated among relatively few individual billing codes.

To compare, Evaluation and Management Medicaid payments in Fort Sumner increased by 6.8% between 2024 and 2023, while overall Medicaid claim payments in the city rose by 3.2% over the same period.
