Nicole Hahn, an administrator at Barry Steam Academy, has been recognized as a 2025-26 Outstanding PLTW Administrator by Project Lead The Way (PLTW). The award is given to educational leaders across the United States who are dedicated to providing students with meaningful learning experiences through PLTW programs. PLTW is a national nonprofit that focuses on preparing students for careers and college through hands-on, project-based learning in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

Earlier this year, Barry STEAM Academy received the 2025 New Mexico Excellence in STEM Award (STEMY) in the School category. This recognition was presented by the Air Force Research Lab Tech Engagement Office and Q Station and highlights the academy’s work in advancing STEAM education through innovative learning approaches and community partnerships.

Dr. David Dimmett, President and CEO of PLTW, stated: “Every day, educators show up to make an important and life-changing difference in the lives of young people in communities all across our country. They build on students’ natural curiosity and inspire confidence while helping prepare them for a range of life opportunities and experiences. PLTW is proud to honor and celebrate extraordinary educators each year through our national awards program.”

PLTW annually recognizes teachers and administrators from its national network whose leadership supports student success beyond the classroom. More information about the PLTW National Awards can be found at https://go.pltw.org/awards-winners.

For nearly three decades, PLTW has supported PreK–12 students with STEM knowledge and skills for future careers or college readiness. The organization partners with over 12,200 schools nationwide.
