From October 26, 2022 post.

Chaves County Sheriff’s Deputies where involved in a short vehicle pursuit that ended with the suspect bailing on foot and running through an open field behind the Roswell Airport.

Sheriff’s Deputies and NMSP officers responded to the Hagerman area in reference to a breaking and entering and a calling party was following the suspect vehicle that was headed towards Highway 13.

The suspect proceeded to head northbound along Old Y.O. rd towards the airport. At some point along Y.O. a Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, when I proceeded to flee at speeds over 90mph.

Just before arriving at the rear of the airport, the suspect stopped the vehicle and fled westbound through an open field. Officers caught up to the suspect after a short pursuit through the field without any further incident.
